same way I did. CB has taught me that BYU fans come in all types--including some that, in my opinion, don't show loyalty to BYU sports as I would define it; but, having read their posts enough, I understand they are BYU fans--in their own way, and consequently, so am I, by necessity, in my own way.

The same applies here, I believe. You've defined what you think is the right way, and they go contrary to that. They probably look at the situation much differently than you. The UH may represent to them much more than a college or team--it may represent a beloved culture to them.
