maybe already discussed, but i think both BYU and ESPN thought they could get more P5 teams to provo more consistently and they are now realizing they cannot. with ESPN on the hook for at least 4 games the expected to fill that with more than one P5 and a bunch of MWC teams...if not why not just give BYU MWC money?

i think ESPN is going to low-ball BYU on renegotiating their tv deal and they will get LESS money than they currently do. hence bronco's comments on P5 inclusion and $$$ being the primary motive. BYU's home schedule, even in the future isn't all that great. 2019 and 2020 are huge exceptions, which conveniently land on renewal years but i still think they both expected more and are shocked at how hard it has been to get teams back to provo (staring at you ND!!!!)

anyway, i think BYU as indy is better than MWC for a lot of reasons but i fear the new tv deal will make it even less so.
