Kind of a weird pitch by Duke to get Thornton:

"We could have gone after some 5th-year transfers, but we decided to go after you instead."

The more I think about this, the more confused I get as to why this is supposed to convince someone to come to Duke. I don't know if it's complimentary or just plain manipulative.
