I am sure the kid that punched the ref in the face didn't mean to kill him either.
Olynik clearly committed a foul, and it was flagrant, the extent of the injury may not have been intended, but it wasn't accidental from anyone's perspective.
Dirtbag and cheap shot artist will follow him as a result of the injury and timing, but he earned those all by himself by his own actions.
