Wait until the prices come down on the new "nanocrystal" technology 4k TVs...
before you make the jump to 4k. Right now, only Samsung has the full nanocrystal technology in their new SUHD line of TVs. Most experts are saying the full nanocrystal TVs like the SUHD will make OLED obsolete because nanocrystal is much cheaper to manufacture than OLED and its picture rivals OLED in color quality and is superior to OLED in picture brightness and range. Nanocrystal TVs will come down in price because of low manufacturing costs, but they can't get manufacturing costs down much on OLEDs so OLEDs will remain expensive. BTW, Sony also has a model that uses nanocrystals, but it is not the full nanocrystal technology like the Samsung SUHD, and the SUHD picture is much more impressive than the Sony.
