Recently started using a smart watch and a standing desk because of CB
Thought I'd share my experience so far.

Based on posts here I started researching smartwatches and standing desks.

Two weeks ago, I purchased a Pebble Steel on ebay . I haven't worn a watch regularly in 20 years and haven't worn one at all in more than 5. It bugs a little on my wrist, but the notifications alone make it almost invaluable to me.

Email, texts, IM's, appointments and virtually any notifications from the phone can be pushed to the watch. I am no longer constantly checking my phone or worrying about the sound being on or off or missing a popup on my computer. I get a buzz on my wrist, I look at the watch and decide if I need to look more at my computer or phone. It has already saved my bacon by reminding me about a couple of calls that I would have missed becasue I was stuck on another call. I'll see if I feel like a more feature rich watch is something I'd use, but I'm very pleased with what I've got.

Also, last week I built a standing desk that is spring loaded and allows me to move my keyboard and monitors from sitting to standing level. I've used it for 4 days now and have learned that standing all day sucks, but standing frequently during the day is great...but moving the desk up and down, even with spring assist is annoying.

Yesterday I bought a drafting stool that allows me sit at my standing height when I get tired of standing. This is working great. I am a pacer when on the phone, so I am now easily able to view my computer while standing and talking and still quickly sit down and stand up without moving the desk up and down. I likely will end up leaving the desk at the standing position.

My standing desk is positioned as the "L" off of my main desk. So when I need to do any hand writing, etc. I do need to lower my chair so then my computer is a bit out of reach. Maybe I'll convert to a drafting table eventually but I don't want to spend any more money as I pay grossnet tithing and can't even afford season ticktets...
