The problem my generation has with boxing...
If you are mid thirties or so maybe you agree...

We grew up watching fighters like Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and Ivan Drago.

These guys didn't dance or hug...they threw haymaker after freaking haymaker, bloodied each other up, got knocked down multiple times, staggered to the ropes, and then threw more haymakers.

Twelve rounds was a given, but it was 12 rounds of just open shot after shot. They didn't bother blocking a punch...they were too busy throwing them. It was what boxing should be.

Then...we went from that to Mike Tyson...a guy who was straight out of the movies. All he did was throw haymakers. Except not for 12 rounds...it just took a minute or two. But it was exciting. It was worth watching.

Now...we get this crap. And it was crap. Mayweather may be the greatest ever...but he is boring boring boring (at least in the ring...outside the ring he is a circus). I've seen croquet matches with more appeal.

You can't take us from Rocky, to Tyson, to this crap. Boxing just doesn't live up to what it was. It has become a snooze fest.
