In the long run, there is a high correlation between the two things
The Utes are currently middle of the road for a P5 in the number of players drafted and we are a middle of the road P5 team (at best). Unfortunately I don't see Utah getting a whole lot better anytime soon - we can make noise from time to time when everything comes together. The NFL draft is obsessed with measurable athleticism. Obviously, BYU does not have the athleticism of an average P5 team. Fortunately for BYU in 2015, they have an elite athlete at the most important position - that should really help a lot (if Hill stays healthy). Utah may have their best defense in school history in 2015 and a Heisman candidate at running back and it will probably be wasted on a below par QB.
