A friend of mine just posted this picture of the Spokane Bloomsday
downtown starting line on Facebook. They have several different starts, in different locations, to minimize the number of people in one place. Even at that, it's crazy. It draws runners from all over the world. They've incentivized U.S. runners, adding $20,000 total into the pot for U.S. runners that finish in the Top 25.
