a school like Stanford offers the best value assuming their cost of Tuition is the highest in the PAC?

Wouldn't a kid prefer (looking short sighted) rather have more money in his pocket every month rather than think I'm glad I'm getting this education worth x amount for free?

I'm trying to walk through what a kid would think and what a university depending on its strengths be evaluating to make a allocation for this.
