I watched a documentary and part of it was about this family
where their full time business was tending beehives. They have 10,000 hives.

When they go to CA for the almond orchards pollination, they are paid $150 per hive. They take 4,000 hives. They receive $600,000. Then they go to Washington for the Apple orchards (he didn't mention how much $$ there). Not sure if there is an additional pollinate location before the harvest the honey. Said his father did the same business, but only had 1,500 hives.

I know there is some work involved and harvesting honey is a lot of effort. Losses in the winter are anywhere from 10% to 50% death rate. I don't mind work.

I would enjoy doing it - I just don't have a good spot in my yard right now.
