I am missing the part where your summer at RQN/DJP/Snell/whatever gets you into
the office at Latham. I don't know much about what your prospects look like after a clerkship. In any event, don't burn any bridges until you have a bird in the hand.

Isn't a 175k salary in DC the equivalent to like 90k in SLC?
JackStack

Maybe, but for many people the type of law you'll be doing in DC>SLC.

If you live in the District of Columbia, more like 115-120K in SLC dollars.

Goung AUSA after a clerkship is unlikely

In my experience, "Going AUSA" happens in only a few ways:

One of my friends from Law School became an AUSA after 2 clerkships (state+fed).

Aren't AUSA jobs extremely difficult to get right out of law school right now?
