I don't see why you can't find a team full of talented kids that work hard...if you do have a bunch of lazy talent that reflects poorly on recruiting. If you have a bunch of hard workers but little talent, that also reflects poorly on the recruiting process. So if you have to make the choice presented in the OP, maybe the best choice is to get someone in who can recruit talent that works hard.

That said, I believe Bronco prefers a hard worker over a talented kid if their performance is roughly equal.
