I'm an Apple user with a new Android Tablet. I need some help.
I've never been one to join in the Apple vs. Android rivalry. I figure if people are happy with what they've got, then great. That being said, I've become very comfortable with iOS and have had several iPhones over the years and am comfortable in the Mac environment.

My wife and I recently bought a mattress and with it came a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Since my wife already has an iPad for work, this new tablet went to me. I was stoked and was looking forward to having a tablet. Although it was a bit different to use, I thought it was a fine system until just recently. And this is where I need help from people who know.

The tablet only has 8GB of storage which filled up pretty quickly, so I bought a 64GB SD card to increase that capacity. I was going to download movies for my kids to watch in the car during a recent road trip. I soon learned that the SD card cannot be set as the default destination for these downloads from the Disney Movies Anywhere app. I would download a movie and then move it to the card, but there's not enough space on the device memory. So I began moving apps to the SD card. The only problem is, there were only a certain number of apps that could be moved, and moving these apps didn't free up enough space to download a movie.

So I looked into how I could move the other apps, and that's when I began learning about rooting. As I researched rooting, mostly what I came across were warnings about rooting. I still wanted to do it, though, since that seems to be the only way to be able to move enough apps to free up the space I need. I downloaded an app from the Google Play store that didn't work at all, and am at a loss as to how to root it.

I have become so frustrated by first finding out that the SD card cannot be the default storage so I have to move everything individually; then to find out that I couldn't move everything, or even enough to free up space for one movie without rooting my device and opening it up to viruses, malware, etc.; then to try to root it anyway and run into a wall. I truly want to love my Android device, but I'm having a hard time believing in it right now. Cougarboard, help thou my unbelief.
