For me, it's just kind of part of the deal with BYU that the elite skill positions players are going to be somewhat of a rarity here. I know LaVell did have more success there, but you can't really argue some of the talent he's brought in at RB, to some extent WR, etc. However, I am very unimpressed with their O-Line recruiting/success. You look back at 2006 when he was a newer coach at the Travis Bright type O-linemen they had. They were absolute animals. Just enormous beasts who created HUGE gaps. Now? We are thrilled if we have one big nasty lineman (Koroma). The decline in recruiting of NFL caliber linemen on both sides of the ball is a big problem and is also a big reason of our lack of success the last several seasons in my opinion.
Bring back the big boys, bring back the 10 win seasons.
