BYU has always depended on a little luck and the stars aligning to have great seasons. They've ony been really good when they've had a few playmakers and not many glaring weaknesses.

Some of the most talent laden teams had holes that made them less successful.

Nobody questions that BYU needs to get better overall talent and get the playmakers, but I am mystified about how peopel think the talent level is really that different than it's ever been.

Heaps was a bust and Taysom was still too new and then got hurt. Ty's best QB job was for a team that started 0-3. This is how BYU has always worked. Things have to line up right.

Bronco got his job by stating that he believed BYU could win with the Honor Code and a Band of Brothers. Shame on him for believing this is possible??? Is he supposed to tell the BOT that they will have to look the other way if they want to compete?

Maybe it isn't possible. Maybe BYU is going to just be what it always has been, pretty good and sometimes a magical season.
