because my wife came from a family that delivered all their babies at home using a midwife. My MIL told me right after we got married to stay out of the decision of how and where are babies would be delivered because I didn't have a say in that decision.

I guess I see marriage as more of a partnership and would never exclude the input and concerns from my wife over a major decision yet you are suggesting that the father should do exactly that in this situation?
