Yes, my wife decided the type of child birth she wanted to have. She studied it out, made a reasoned decision . . . and I supported her wishes. My wife alone decided on the first child that she didn't want an epidural. That experience sucked, so she elected an epidural on the next three. I supported her decision. I can assure you that I was present for all four births . . . waiting like a short stop in case the baby squirted toward the floor and ensuring that no maniacal doctors were present.
Supporting your wife's decision does not mean you abandon her side or ignore aspects of safety.
