I'm confused that you are describing your father as a diehard fan. Yet he only "took (you) to a couple of games"

What am I?

I've taken my three children to BYU football games since they were 8 to 9 years old. They are now in their 20s. I've had season tickets since I was a student at BYU in the mid-80s. I only watch away games on TV.

No offense but your father sounds like my brother-in-law who never attends home games because he prefers to watch them at home sitting on his favorite recliner. He is also the first person to complain about the coaching staff and players. I wouldn't call him a diehard fan. He also has never taken his children to any games. They all watch BYU football on TV.
