I don't judge your dad or anyone else for their decision to spend time
doing other things in life. The most telling item is what he has decided to do with his time.

Through the years my love of BYU Sports has never wavered. I have learned, however, to not internalize it so much the older i get. It used to be that it would take me days to get over a big loss. Now about 15 minutes will do. Maybe that makes me less of a fan.

I do think that most of BYU fan's apathy to the program has everything to do with Utah (4 losses in a row and they are in the PAC12). 8-5 last year was not good, but not nearly as bad as many on here make it out to be. We beat Texas and Cal on the road and Virginia at home. We lost our stud QB, a fate that would have put the vast majority of the "great" BYU teams into a tailspin. There were certainly some bad losses, but 8-5 with those wins isn't so bad. We as a BYU fan/Mormon culture love to play the victim card, this is just another example.

I wish your father well and hope he is happy with whatever he does. Yes, BYU fans could use some good things to happen to the program. My question would be: If we go 11-1 this year and play in the Fiesta Bowl would he come back and be a fan? I am guessing the answer would be no. He has moved on to things that are more important to him.
