I recommend three ID's when traveling
1. Driver License
2. Travel passport (anywhere in the world)
3. Travel passport - card size (20 bucks). Canada, US, Mexico,
I keep my Passport in my carry on luggage, DL on me and my travel passport some place else. I also have soft copies of each in PDF and ready to go. In your case, call your airline as they can help.
