This has been the case for the past 10+ years. Some blame could be cast
at the S&C program at BYU, but most of the credit goes to players having more time after they graduate (or leave school to train for NFL draft) because they aren't in school. It becomes a full-time job instead of dealing with the rigors of being a full-time student athlete. They spend most every waking hour running, lifting, eating healthy, etc. in a short period of time to be able to make a good showing at their job interview (pro day). I've been frustrated hearing about these guys that "look better than they ever have" since they started playing football--often times it said about OL. Whey couldn't they lay off the potato chips, pizza, ice cream, french fries, etc. when they were training in college? Because they had to pound the calories to feed the machine on a cheap budget. They were college students that were living the college life. Once they were done with college football, its was time to get serious and prepare for that pro day. Only one thing on their mind at that point, and that's what they eat, drink, and sleep.
