They expect Bronco to be undefeated . . . because if he isn't than there is nothing left to play for. That line is code for "we are not in a P5."

They are upset when Bronco says he wants to win a national title (which you have to be undefeated for) . . . because Bronco knows that is what his team has to play for every year (not a conference championship) . . . because BYU is not in a P5.

They are upset that Bronco wants perfection every year (and says it) but they are also upset when he doesn't achieve it . . . because we are not in a P5.

There are many things that one could blame Bronco for, and those things get talked about . . . sometimes. It is crazy that the thing he is blamed for most, is completely outside of his control. It is that BYU is not in a P5. And what adds extra anger or apathy to fans is that Utah is in a P5 when deep down they know that BYU was more deserving. They blame Bronco for this, too. Bronco should never lose to Utah, but he is not the reason BYU is where it is.

Fans really need to stop transferring their anger, their apathy, and their depression on to one man.

Bronco could never improve in any of the areas that he really needs to and, if BYU was taken by the Big 12 today, fans would come back in droves. People would be happy and all would be well in Zion.

You don't want to admit that this is true, but it is and you know it.
