IMO
1. much better served in the long run of getting an internship in something you want to make a career doing. If you want to do that for your career then go for it I suppose.
2. success stories are the outlier and not the expected outcome. I heard waaaaaay more horror stories than success stories and stats I've seen back these observations up.
It's tough to find jobs for a lot of college grads so a quick buck may not be the smartest choice if career jobs are going to the students who did internships.
Just a few things to consider.
