If we're going to be competing for high end recruits, even legacy kids that had committed early to BYU may in fact open up recruiting more than we're used to. I'd be interested to see how many SoCal kids that commit early to their dream school of UCLA or USC then de-commit as offers from other P5 schools roll in. Garett Bolles is like our assistant coach situation--at least you feel good you're recruiting the right people in the first place. If no one were interested, you'd wonder why. And here's hoping both Bolles and Jackson end up where they belong...in BYU blue...after doing the diligence any one of us would want our kid to do if presented with offers from top schools. The bottom line is that BYU's weakness is also its strength. Not all kids qualify to play sports at the Y; not all want to. But to those that do, for the right reason, it's the only school that really qualifies, regardless of whether you'll get to the NFL or NBA (which I agree is 90% on the player).
