I have averaged 13.4% growth in investments for last 5 years, would you say that

is a great return? Acceptable over the last 5 years but not great? Not good based on the last 5 years? I dont do my own investing and am such an uneducated investor that I dont know how to judge brokers performance. Thoughts?

I should add that I believe the stocks in my fund tend to be less volatile

Make him nervous. Ask him to provide you with comparisions to major benchmarks.
