to emulate the lives of the characters, but most of the characters (up until the last season of the series) aren't very successful and are kind of tools. The show is about a movie star and his childhood friends/family who are essentially pathetic groupies. It's hilarious and shows how ridiculous the entire Hollywood scene is.

Not to mention, Jeremy Piven's character is one of the funniest/most offensive characters you'll ever see on TV. It's definitely not for everyone.
