IMO, the key to finding a happy place as a fan
is to realize that the team and program don't owe anything to you as an individual. Guys that have their weekend ruined by a loss take things way too personally. When you don't take personal offense at a loss or poor performance you can cheer for the team, get excited, wear your colors proudly, take your road trips, and enjoy the ride. When the team does lose, you can say, "Oh well" and move on. No one is purposefully trying to make your life miserable.
