I think there needs to be more transparency in the process. They need to allow potential enlisted personnel to speak with former service people and do their due diligence. I'd like to see an exit poll of those leaving the service about their experiences. What was promised and what was delivered. Were their expectations met?

Perhaps we need to raise the enlistment age to the drinking age? This is a huge decision and shouldn't be taken lightly. They can't be trusted to drink alcohol but they can be trusted to make a correct decision about a life-threatening line of work?
