I think CORSI is just fine as a measure

2013-2014: Kings 1st in CF% 5on5 Close. Blackhawks were 2nd and pretty much everyone agreed the Blackhawks-Kings was the real Stanley Cup final
2012-2013: Blackhawks 2nd. Kings 1st again. Bruins were right there as well at 4th.
2011-2012: Kings 2nd.

I think CORSI is just fine as a measure of team quality as the last 4 cup winners were top 5 in this measure.
