My tips
First off, if you are really going for a killer steak, don't spare expense on the actual quality of the meat

Get some really nice ribeyes, at least one and a half inches thick. Let them rest for 30 minutes to get to room temperature. Season with salt and pepper and nothing more.

Get the grill really hot, over 600° if you have a thermometer, otherwise almost as hot as it will get. Sear the steaks for 2 to 3 minutes, flip and grill for another 2 to 3 minutes on a different part of the grill that is just as hot. If you have a grill that can then cook at 400 (Big Green Egg), this is ideal, otherwise you can transfer to oven and finish for another 4 minutes at 400 or until desired doneness. 130 is my target (medium rare)

Let rest 5-10 minutes. You can put a slab of herb butter at this point if you want. Enjoy!
