Sure, if you're close enough, but then you wouldn't the space to even think
about taking a flying leap.
I'm with you in that I don't think it does much good. I'd rather see a guy stay in the play even if it means giving up the open 3. Do a hard run, make the guy know he has to rush it a little bit, but make sure you still in the play and ready to defend in case the guy does pull it down.
