to certain teams as "their" teams. Billy Crystal was guest-hosting sportscenter in December of 2012. He interviewed Chris Paul and referred to the Clippers as "we" and his co-host chastised him for it on-air.

Between then and now the floodgates have been opened and everyone refers to their teams as "we" and "my team" and it is very annoying to me. I don't want to watch you sportscasters nerd out over your latest acquisition or cry over your most recent loss.

Within reason (Jay Crawford's piece on Cleveland sports before Lebron, during the first LeBron era, through the decision, the championships in Miami, and the return comes to mind) it can be done very well and be very tasteful but most of it is just obnoxious.
