I buy a frozen side of beef and drive 12 hrs with it.
Done this for years and never had a problem.
Granted it comes from a commercial freezer which is prolly 30-40 below. I put blankets over the beef, which is cut and wrapped, and I drive.
Beef is still mostly frozen when I get home.
My friend raises beef and I buy from him which is why I drive so far.
