I think it depends on whether you hasve been to HI before.
Oahu has special things to do and see like the Cultural Center, Pearl Harbor etc. that you won't find on another island. But, you will have to deal with the traffic and all that goes with staying in Honolulu.
Most people who have been a time or two prefer Maui. More laid back?
