Do a home raffle. Sell tickets for something like $250. Set a minimum number
of tickets to be sold (like 2000). The winner gets the home for $250 and you walk away with $500k. Or you donate a percentage to charity (the Human Fund) to make it all legit.
It's probably illegal and you could very easily lose money, but you said you were looking for out of the box possibilities.
