I doubt Paul would have been much use to us. He had not practiced or played with the team all season long. It would be very difficult for him to come into the championship game cold and make much of a contribution. At most, he would have played in reserve.

A similar thing happened last year. Paul rejoined the team just before the VC started. If I recall correctly, he didn't start until the final. He played reserve up until then.
