The ones who believe more in peer review
and collegiality than being mavericks and challenging group think.

I come from academia, I saw it every day. People who were supposed to be on the leading edge of R&D stifled by the need to accepted by their peers in the profession, not willing to become an outcast for a truly paradigm-shifting idea.
