Your insecurity is showing.
I've lived in both areas. And I like both. But NorCal is pretty ambivalent about SoCal.
On the other hand, a lot of So Cal folks get their panties in a wad about NorCal (even though LA and SF are now very similar culturally).
Just like you, many seem to have some kind of complex about proving they are better. Nor Cal couldn't care less.
