The actual border war was hideous and left some terrible scars. The animosity that lingered in the rivalry games really could be ugly. People like to talk about how nasty Bama-Auburn can get or about OSU-UM and the Toledo War, but the border war is on another level. Most people obviously are rational about it, but for those who really fixate on it . . . Just the fact that Kansas calls themselves the jayhawks gets some Mizzou fans riled up.
