from some people like Jkampa that Denver gets a lot of recognition for skiing and outdoor mtn stuff nationally and they feel SLC is shortchanged in this regard.

So you get prominence or other weird stuff thrown out cuz there is a geographical rivalry/jealousy. I learned this via a thread about why people in Utah (some) hate the Broncos.
