Kidney stone recommendations?
This is my third and worst battle with these deamons. Had a decent sized stone stuck in the kidney. It would regularly cause discomfort. Finally went to the urologist. He said it was too big to pass so we scheduled a lithotripsy. For a variety of reasons it took 5 months to get this done, which happened Tuesday.

My post procedure pain is making me wish I had ignored it and continued with the treatment of a vicadin before bed two or three nights a week when the pain prevented sleep. Dr gave me Tylenol 3 to use for "a couple of days until all the fragments pass. Two doses of that and 5 hours later I was in the ER. Here I was introduced to a marvelous friend named morphine

The ER doc ordered a CT scan and reported my stone had multiplied and replenished in 5 stones that had by that time made their way into the uretha, where they were causing havoc. 7 hours and three doses later I was allowed to leave. 3 days later and the things haven't moved.
Urologist's recommendation was slightly stronger pain meds (back to vicadin), continued drowning in water, and patience. He said if pain is intolerable, he can insert a stint.

Questions for those with experience / knowledge:
How long can I expect to wait for these guys to pass?
Is there anything proven to speed their decent?
Any other suggestions?
