If someone asked me why (and they do)
as a non LDS guy who likes an occasional adult beverage, why I like BYU so much? I would point them to this post!! http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=14124256

I live and die as they win and lose, and experience all the way too extreme emotions many do on here. But at the end of the day, as a long time coach who is disgusted with some of the stuff that goes on even in High School ball now, BYU is a beacon of how it should be. Players and coaches alike.

Every coach has his faults, but Bronco does as good a job as anybody preparing men for life after BYU (and that is not the NFL) and is a great role model, and whether you want to admit it or not, a heckuva coach. I would never hesitate telling a player and their parents to seriously consider BYU if they were offered (Poppinga was recruiting one of our guys last year, offer just didn't come) and the player would have likely committed if offered. He ended up at Air Force.

BYU just does things the right way and while there will still be things that detract from that (brawl, occasional player issues, etc) that can't be avoided. You still have to look at how the scale balances at the end of the day and for BYU, it is always well to the positive! Proud to be a BYU fan and always will be.
