LaVell would be the first to credit his assistants for the job they did. Tho he

wasn't the one who drew up the passing schemes (tho you better believe he had a hand in it), he was the one who decided BYU needed to do something different -- pass the football. Yes, he left a lot of the details to be worked out by assistants. But he was the mastermind behind it all.
