Sounds like a lot of standard small business concerns

I would actually guess that staff at a dentist's office are in general more reliable than in many industries. But, the fact it's appointment-based could make things more complicated than fields without that. But it just doesn't sound that different from plenty of small business, most of which are probably less profitable.
