Soccer question: Which is more difficult to stop a penalty kick or a breakaway

1 on 1 vs. the goalkeeper?

I enjoy watching soccer, but did not grow up playing the sport. It seems to me that a breakaway style shootout would be more exciting than with the current penalty kick shootout....maybe not.

Probably a PK because of the "stand on the goal line" rule

The key is the keeper coming off of his line, making the goal smaller
