especially against a good, tall keeper. on a break away, a keeper can come out, make a tackle, spread himself out up close and cut off the angle of the shot, while the attacking player has the added pressure of having to be mindful of defenders trying to catch up to him. you see players in soccer fail to score on break aways all the time.
