New cholesterol medications are coming soon and they are very expensive.
PCSK9 inhibitors look like they will be approved by the FDA soon. Lowering your cholesterol could end up costing the health care system an extra $10-$12k per year. This is a lot of money to keep your cholesterol down and you will most likely be on it for the rest of your life. Is it worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep your cholesterol down?
