For those who use Learning Management Systems - a rant and a questions for you
Over the years I have used WebCt, Moodle, Blackboard, and now Canvas and quite frankly they are all terrible. I really doubt they seek much input from instructors and other people who use the system. My guess is they mostly employ people with business and computer backgrounds who have never been in a classroom before.

That being said - Which one do you use and what do you like and hate about it?

some quick comments about each one -

WebCT - ancient and no longer exists as far as I know but I loved the testing feature it had where you could see the ISP each student was using and when each student was submitting questions in real time.

Moodle - Very basic but I loved that you could see who was online at any given time and chat with them if needed.

Blackboard - A very in depth LMS but designed poorly that creates a lot of frustration.

Canvas - Basically a carbon copy of blackboard with just a flashier modern design but not as easy to use as blackboard.
