I read an article where one big gambler said he loved BYU early in the year with those lines and took BYU in many games early because of Taysom Hill. Said did not bet the same later in the year over doubts he stays healthy.

I think that explains the lines mostly. Taysom was 4-0 last September, and looked really good. People are betting on him.
